With more than three decades of emergency and trauma nursing experience and a lifelong passion for motorcycling, Teresa "Trauma Mama" Martinez, MSN, BSN, RN has dedicated her career to one mission: helping people survive emergencies and preventing injuries before they happen.

As the Founder of the Arizona Motorcycle Safety Academy, Teresa combines extensive emergency medicine expertise with decades of riding experience to educate motorcyclists, healthcare professionals, first responders, and community members through evidence-based, hands-on training. Her programs emphasize accident prevention, emergency preparedness, and the life-saving skills needed when seconds matter.

Teresa currently serves as an Emergency Department Registered Nurse and has held leadership positions in trauma, emergency medicine, infection prevention, and clinical operations throughout her career. Her extensive experience caring for critically injured patients provides a unique perspective that bridges hospital-based trauma care with prehospital emergency response and rider education.

Recognized nationally for her expertise in motorcycle trauma and crash scene management, Teresa is a Lead Instructor Trainer for Accident Scene Management, a national speaker, educator, and advocate for motorcycle safety. She has trained hundreds of riders, healthcare professionals, EMS personnel, and instructors across the United States in emergency first response, injury prevention, and roadside trauma care. She also provides professional medical support and first aid services for motorcycle rallies, charity rides, endurance events, and organized group rides.

Beyond education, Teresa serves as a Legal Nurse Consultant, partnering with attorneys to analyze medical records, interpret complex trauma cases, explain standards of care, and provide expert medical insight in motorcycle and personal injury litigation. Her combination of emergency nursing expertise and real-world riding experience allows her to evaluate cases from both the clinical and motorcyclist perspectives.

Known throughout the riding community as "Trauma Mama," Teresa is passionate about empowering others through education rather than fear. She believes every rider should have the knowledge, confidence, and preparation to respond effectively during a medical emergency or crash. Whether teaching an Accident Scene Management course, leading a CPR certification class, supporting a charity motorcycle event, or mentoring future instructors, her focus remains the same—protecting lives and strengthening the motorcycle community.
